Parent Involvement at a Cooperative Preschool
Cedar Cross Co-Op
Parents take an active role in their children's learning experience.
This involvement is what leads to the close relationships that we build with the other families and children in our classes. We know that we are all in it together and that our experience is enriched by what we do for our children and our preschool.
Working in the Classroom
Parents are required to work in the classroom 1 - 3 times per month, depending on your child's class. We have flexible scheduling, allowing parents to sign up for days they are available.
Working in the classroom on a rotating basis is a requirement of participating in a co-op. There are two parents assigned to the class each day that will be responsible in assisting the teachers through out class. Some responsibilities include: helping facilitate play at rotation stations, before and after class prep assistance as needed, and cleaning between rotations. Most importantly, all parents are expected to be an active participant in the children’s learning experience and have fun.
Being Involved in YOUR Preschool
Fundraising
We are a not for profit preschool, and like many nonprofits we rely on fundraising as well as tuition to run our preschool. We have multiple fundraising opportunities throughout the year, however participation in our annual holiday fundraiser is mandatory by selling, or buying out.
