Brief History of Cedar Cross Cooperative Preschool
The preschool at Cedar Cross began in early 1986 as a mother's’ day out program. By fall of 1986, a teacher was hired and the preschool was established as Wee Care at Cedar Cross, under the umbrella of Cedar Cross United Methodist Church (CCUMC). A second teacher was hired for the 1987-88 school year allowing the preschool to form three different age classes.
In early 1995 the preschool board proposed changing the name Wee Care at Cedar Cross to Cedar Cross Cooperative Preschool. The name change was proposed to the administrative council at CCUM in January 1995 and was accepted. Starting in the fall of 1995 the preschool was officially known as Cedar Cross Cooperative Preschool.
Cedar Cross Cooperative Preschool has evolved and changed many times over the past 34 years to ensure the needs of the children and our families are continually being met.
