As a parent, you know the nightly bedtime challenge: to get your kids to go to sleep and stay asleep. It’s not always easy or fun, but healthy sleep schedules and patterns are one of the best things you can do for your child’s mental, physical, and emotional health.
When children aren’t getting enough sleep, they have a harder time controlling their emotions. Their behavior may be irritable or hyper, which is not fun for anyone.
Regular schedules throughout the day, and bedtime rituals play a role in helping kids get solid, good sleep and function at their best. When you create healthy sleep habits, it helps your child fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up rested and refreshed.
There are one- fits-all rules for bedtime rituals and every child is different. What's important is to build a routine that works for your family - and to stick with it as best as you can!
Check out our friends and great resource at The Sleep Institute, for some ideas on how your kiddos can get a great night sleep!

November 30th, 2017 - Good Job! Nice Work!

As moms we say this probably 25 thousand times a day… We want to support and encourage our kids, but by saying the exact same thing, the exact same way all day long,  it loses its effect…
“You ate all of your peas. Good job!” “You did a good job putting away the toys.”
A “good job” now and then is fine, but it doesn’t help children understand why what they did was good. Preschoolers need to know what they did, why it worked, or why it shows they are capable. Try the following suggestions to give preschoolers specific, detailed information that recognizes their achievements and encourages their learning.

Follow the link to this awesome article that will give you ideas how you can help your child recognize their achievements and encourage learning.
