The Top 6 Reasons to be a Co-Op Parent
  1. There is a 1 adult to 3-4 child ratio for a more individualized learning environment.
  2. Activity centers can be more involved resulting in a higher level learning, more challenge, yet open-ended for ultimate learning for each child's needs.
  3. Parents can see their child in a learning environment, understand their educational needs and follow-up with further opportunities at home.
  4. Friendships that are shared by both parents and child are established and can be everlasting.
  5. Non-working parents or caregivers and their children get to enter the classrooms everyday together, check out the planned activities, so you can discuss happenings further later in the day.
  6. Parents become advocates with the teacher for the learning success of their child.

Mom to Carter, 4yrs AM Pre-K

Can you believe it? Summer is on the out, fall is coming, and preschool is starting! (I can hear the Wahoo’s from you PreK moms) As fun and exciting as starting preschool is, it can also be scary or cause anxiety for some kids, and their parent’s too! For many, this year is their first year in preschool, their first time being away from mommy/daddy, and mommy/daddy being away from their preschooler. It’s a whole new experience and milestone for kids and parents alike.

At CCCP, we believe that children at this age learn best through play. Some of the most important life skills can be learned this way…Making friends, communicating, time-management, sitting at circle time, and loving to learn.

I assure you – your family is in a loving, welcoming, and safe community.

The most important detail to remember is every child and family is different, some will cry (mine did), some won’t sit still (mine wouldn't), and some know the drill. Every child and family comes to CCCP with different experiences, and that’s okay. Our kids are here to learn - transition times, sitting still at circle time, following directions, keeping their hands to themselves, and how to make friends, in addition to the age appropriate academic’s. Parents – you will learn many wonderful things about your child during this time as well.

Your child is now an official“Preschooler” – How do you prepare them?
  • Talk to your child about all the awesomeness that is to come, and what to expect! Making friends, playing games, art projects, stories and so-so much more!
  • Start your school routine now

If you have concerns.
Here are some websites I found that are helpful from Baby Center and Parents.com, also Google - Preparing for Preschool for more ideas.
  • BabyCenter.com: How to prepare your child for preschool.
  • Parents.com: Prepare your child for preschool.
  • Read to your child: The Library has some amazing books about starting preschool! My favorite I checked out at Lake Stevens Library is:
It’s Time for Preschool!  By Esme Raji Codell

I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you this year!  Please feel free to reach out to me, other board members and the other parents in your classes with any questions or concerns.
