Teacher Correne Bonkowski, our pre-k teacher, has been teaching at Cedar Cross since 1988 and is the parent of two grown children. In 2001, she completed her M. Ed in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in Early Childhood Education. She believes children learn best through interactive play.
“Correne is truly a gift to our family. She has changed the way I parent my children and we are a happier and healthier family because of her gentle guidance and wisdom. I have learned so much from her as a parent, and my son has learned to be a confident leader in his kindergarten class.” -Lisa McFarland, CCCP Parent 2 years

Teacher Lesa Leonard, our 3-4 year old teacher, has been with Cedar Cross since 2000. She was a parent in our program before that, so she has a lot of experience with our philosophies. She has a strong background as a Children’s Ministry leader and has a genuine love and connection to the children which is visible in her classes.
“Teacher Lesa provided my son a comfortable and welcoming place to learn, grow and explore in. We started the preschool the first week after a move, so there was a lot of apprehension on my son’s part, but it didn’t take long for him to know he was safe and loved in Teacher Lesa’s class.” -Jen Yormark, CCCP Parent 4 years

Teacher Geralynn King, our 2-3 year old teacher, joined our staff in 2001, after participating as a parent for eight years with her three children. She provides a fun environment and helps build self esteem through play and creative activities.
“My son was in Teacher Geralynn’s class. She is so wonderful! All the kids love her and she takes time to connect with each and every child and get to know their individual personalities. It is hard (for both parent and child) to venture off into the new world of preschool, but Teacher Geralynn helps the children make the transition smoothly and she is so tender and gentle with them. My son couldn’t have had a better experience for his first year at school!” -Michelle Mallory, CCCP Parent 3 years
